Cherry Queen Candidate Marlee Harrison

Miss Marlee Harrison

Marlee Lane Harrison is 23 years-old and the daughter of Judy and Brad Harrison. She is the only member of her family born and raised here in Traverse City. A dancer since the age of three, Marlee is a 2019 graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy where she majored in Dance. After graduating, Marlee headed off to Alma College on a partial dance scholarship, but the COVID pandemic threw her (and most everyone else) for a loop. A return to Traverse City caused her to redirect her education toward her second love, Cosmetology, earning her Cosmetology License in 2021. Marlee has always had a heart for serving others in the community and has volunteered in various ways from a very young age. As a child, she helped non-profits by volunteering during local Swingshift and the Stars events at the Traverse City Opera House. She and her family then began serving meals at Michael’s Place, a local organization dedicated to helping people cope with grief. Later, putting her dance skills to work as an instructor, she helped raise funds for Love Thy Neighbor and Good Gaali during their participation in Swingshift and the Stars. After attending a five week intensive discipleship course in Colorado, she decided that serving others was what she really wanted to do and is now working for Michaels Place. Marlee’s plans are to return to school at NMC in the fall with an emphasis on psychology. Long-term, she would like to combine her love for dance and her education in psychology into a form of dance therapy for grieving people. Marlee is hard working and a very fast learner who loves getting to know people and putting a smile on their faces. She believes that God has called her to care for others and looks forward to serving the community that has helped to make her into the woman that she is today. Marlee is honored to be sponsored by Flat Cap Ventures and Golden Fowler Home Furnishing
